review-local-changes — Claude Code skill: review uncommitted work
Reviews uncommitted working-tree changes and returns a list of issues with improvement suggestions. Handy right before you commit.
npx skills add NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit --skill review-local-changes -a claude-codeWhat review-local-changes does
The skill looks at git diff plus untracked files, so it covers work that has not reached history yet. It first sizes up the change set with commands like git status --short and git diff --stat, keeping staged and unstaged edits apart. Then it fans out to parallel agents: some summarise the touched files, others hunt for problems.
The reviewer lineup depends on what changed. security-auditor and bug-hunter join for code or config edits, code-quality-reviewer covers logic and formatting, test-coverage-reviewer handles test files, contracts-reviewer watches types and APIs, and historical-context-reviewer digs into git history on complex diffs. The spec/ and reports/ folders are skipped unless you ask for them.
Severity is controlled by --min-impact, which takes values from critical down to low; the default is high, so anything scoring below 61 stays out of the report. The --json flag changes output format only and does not touch filtering. One thing to know: the skill reads your local tree, so changes already pushed to a remote are outside its scope.
What it helps with
- scan uncommitted edits before writing a commit
- catch security holes in fresh code before it ships
- tell finished staged changes apart from work in progress
- report only issues above a chosen severity
- export findings as JSON for further processing
Example prompts for the agent
- /review-local-changes
- /review-local-changes security, performance --min-impact medium
- /review-local-changes --min-impact critical --json
