What market-data does

The package contains two skills: one handles bulk historical queries, analysis, and backtesting; the other looks up prices, news, and fundamentals. Available data includes one-minute OHLCV bars, SEC XBRL filings, and financial news articles.

The MCP interface exposes dataset names and schemas, while HTTP handles SQL queries. Use HTTP SQL to fetch data: the MCP sql tool times out. That limitation matters when directing an agent to query the datasets.

What it helps with

  • retrieve historical prices for a backtest
  • check a security's latest price
  • find recent news about a company
  • look up company fundamentals

Example prompts for the agent

  • Get historical stock data for a backtest.
  • Check the current price and latest news for this company.
  • Find this company's fundamentals in SEC filings.
