triage · readwiseio — Claude Code skill: work through your Readwise Reader inbox
The skill walks you through recent Readwise Reader saves one at a time and argues each case for and against reading. Handy when the inbox has piled up and you don't know where to start.
npx skills add readwiseio/readwise-skills --skill triage -a claude-codeWhat triage does
The skill reads your Readwise Reader inbox, pulls the latest saves and presents them one by one so you can decide what happens to each: read, defer or archive. Documents arrive newest first, 10 per batch, and the skill fetches the next batch when you run out.
Each document gets a card with title, author, site, category and reading time, followed by a short narrative of what the piece covers and two judgements: why read it, why skip it. Then four options — open in Reader, move to Later, archive, or something else such as tagging or shortlisting. Replies like "read it" or "skip" are understood, and the skill moves the document itself.
Access comes through Readwise MCP tools or the readwise CLI, so you need one of the two in place. Personalisation is read from reader_persona.md in the current working directory; without that file the pitches stay generic and the skill suggests running build-persona first.
What it helps with
- clear a backlog in the Readwise Reader inbox one document at a time
- decide which recent saves are worth reading now
- archive or defer a document without leaving the agent chat
- get an honest case for and against reading an article
- tidy up tags and shortlist while triaging
Example prompts for the agent
- triage my Reader inbox
- show me the next save and tell me whether it's worth reading
- tell me more about this document
