What paper-assembly does

This skill inspects a paper project, separates finished work from pending phases, and orders the remaining tasks. It connects literature work, planning, experiment code, results, figures, tables, writing, citations, formatting, compilation, and self-review.

The package includes assembly_checker.py. It scans a directory, checks the pipeline phases, reports missing artifacts, and can write checkpoint.json. After each phase, outputs move to later phases and the checkpoint is updated; gates also check files, citation keys, figures, and tables before work continues.

The workflow takes a paper directory or a paper plan. It uses Python for the checker script. Phases are not optional here: changing an upstream result means downstream phases need to run again.
