openspec-archiving — Claude Code skill: what it does and setup
Archives completed change proposals and merges requirement deltas into living project documentation following deployment.
npx skills add forztf/open-skilled-sdd --skill openspec-archiving -a claude-codeWhat openspec-archiving does
The skill manages moving finished task folders from spec/changes/ into timestamped archive directories under spec/archive/. It starts by checking for an IMPLEMENTED marker, verifying tasks in tasks.md, and checking git status. Unfinished work will stop the process.
Next, the agent processes requirement deltas sorted by ADDED, MODIFIED, and REMOVED sections. New requirements append to living specs under spec/specs/. Modified sections get overwritten completely, while removed entries receive deprecation date notes. Finally, the source folder moves into the archive and header structures are validated.
What it helps with
- move completed proposals into a timestamped archive directory
- append newly added requirements from deltas into living specs
- replace modified requirement blocks in specification files
- document removed scenarios with deprecation comments
Example prompts for the agent
- Archive the finished proposal for
