kami-document-design — Claude Code skill: Kami-styled documents
A skill that locks generated resumes, slides, letters and white papers into one editorial look. Useful when you want a clean PDF without hand-building the layout.
npx skills add reason-machines/trending-skills --skill kami-document-design -a claude-codeWhat kami-document-design does
Kami is a constraint system for print documents, not a UI kit. The agent reads a fixed spec and writes self-contained HTML, which is then rendered to PDF with WeasyPrint or the browser's print dialog. The palette is narrow on purpose: parchment canvas #f5f4ed, a single ink-blue accent #1B365D, serif at weight 500 with no bold anywhere.
Six document types are covered: one-pager, long doc or white paper, letter, portfolio, resume and a 4–8 slide deck. Each ships in a Chinese and an English variant, picked from the language you write in. No slash command is involved — plain phrasing is enough to wake the skill up.
Chinese typography leans on TsangerJinKai02, which is free for personal projects but needs a paid license from tsanger.cn for commercial work. The English pair, Newsreader and Inter, sit under OFL. One gotcha worth knowing: give tag backgrounds a solid hex value, since rgba() triggers a double-rectangle rendering bug in WeasyPrint.
What it helps with
- produce a resume that matches one house style
- lay out a white paper from existing copy
- build a keynote-style slide deck
- format a recommendation letter
- assemble a multi-page project portfolio
Example prompts for the agent
- Make me a resume in the Kami style, pull the details from
cv.md - Build a one-pager about our product and export it to PDF
- Turn this draft into a polished white paper
