hook-setup — Claude Code skill: configure monitoring hooks
Checks and installs CCAM monitoring hooks for Claude Code and Codex. Use it when adding a provider, repairing hooks, or verifying an installation.
npx skills add hoangsonww/Claude-Code-Agent-Monitor --skill hook-setup -a claude-codeWhat hook-setup does
The skill starts with ccam hooks status and reports missing hooks and entries that would be replaced. It waits for confirmation before running ccam hooks install <selected-or-missing-providers> --yes. Choose claude, codex, or both according to the requested scope and the status report.
After installation, it checks the status again. It then asks you to start a real provider session and verify that CCAM receives a new event. The installer replaces CCAM-owned entries while keeping other user hooks intact. Hook execution must stay non-blocking and fail-safe.
For Claude Code, install the skill with npx skills add hoangsonww/Claude-Code-Agent-Monitor --skill hook-setup -a claude-code; its file is at ~/.claude/skills/hook-setup/SKILL.md. No installation runs before confirmation.
What it helps with
- check which CCAM hooks are installed
- add monitoring hooks for a chosen provider
- restore missing provider hooks
- verify that unrelated user hooks remain intact
- check whether a new session event reaches CCAM
Example prompts for the agent
- Check CCAM hook status and show me what would be added or replaced.
- Set up CCAM hooks for Codex, show the proposed changes, and wait for my approval.
- Verify the CCAM installation and help me check for an event from a new session.
