harmony-next — Claude Code skill for HarmonyOS NEXT work
A skill for HarmonyOS NEXT: an offline ArkTS, ArkUI and NDK reference plus scripts that automate DevEco Studio and the emulator.
npx skills add linhay/harmony-next.skills --skill harmony-next -a claude-codeWhat harmony-next does
The skill answers HarmonyOS NEXT questions without a network call. It ships an offline snapshot of the API 12–23 reference, with API 26 declaration pages under references/JsEtsAPIReference/api26/. A request gets classified first, then only the Markdown files needed for that answer are opened, which keeps context small.
Alongside the reference there are scripts for local automation: commandline_tools_manager.py installs and validates the Command Line Tools, hvd_manager.py lists and launches DevEco HVD instances, device_evidence_bundle.py pulls bounded logs and screenshots over hdc, and device_ui_action.py runs a single UI action with before-and-after evidence. Executable paths hang off HARMONY_NEXT_SKILL_DIR, the directory holding SKILL.md.
The bundled reference is a snapshot, not live docs. For anything about the newest API, the author points to GitHub Releases and Huawei online documentation. And if a script needs a Command Line Tools archive while you only have the Huawei download page URL, it returns a blocked result and asks for a direct link or a local file — worth lining that archive up before you start.
What it helps with
- look up an ArkTS method signature without opening a browser
- bring up and diagnose a HarmonyOS emulator instance
- collect device logs and screenshots over hdc
- run one UI action and capture state before and after
- trace WebView DevTools forwarding and CDP calls
Example prompts for the agent
- Find the @ohos.app.ability.Want signature in the reference and show an example
- Start an HVD emulator and run the doctor check
- Capture device logs and walk through WebView DevTools forwarding
