zoom-meeting-sdk-react-native — Claude skill: embed Zoom in React
A skill that walks your coding agent through embedding Zoom meetings in a React Native app: JWT auth, join and start flows, iOS and Android setup.
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill react-native -a codexWhat zoom-meeting-sdk-react-native does
The skill covers the full lifecycle: initialize the SDK, authenticate, join or start a meeting, work in-meeting, then clean up. The @zoom/meetingsdk-react-native wrapper exposes initSDK(config), isInitialized(), updateMeetingSetting(config), joinMeeting(config), startMeeting(config) and cleanup(). Your agent gets the order to call them in and what each config needs.
Separate files explain the architecture — JS wrapper, native bridge, iOS and Android SDK layers — plus package install and platform requirements. There are patterns for joining with a JWT, meeting number and password, and for host start via ZAK. iOS gets a Podfile walkthrough, Android a Gradle dependency and options mapping. Native bridge notes flag where the two platforms diverge, and a runbook gives you a short preflight checklist before debugging.
Two things to plan for. Native iOS and Android Meeting SDK dependencies still need configuring by hand; the wrapper does not replace them. Keep JWT generation on your backend, because the SDK secret cannot live in the app. And if your project runs on Expo, this route is closed.
What it helps with
- embed a Zoom join flow inside a React Native screen
- generate a JWT on the backend and pass it to
joinMeeting - start a meeting as host with a
zoomAccessToken - trace why the native bridge behaves differently on iOS and Android
- wire up Podfile and Gradle for the Meeting SDK
Example prompts for the agent
- Help me embed a Zoom join flow in my React Native screen with
@zoom/meetingsdk-react-native - Show the host start pattern: what goes into
startMeetingalongside the ZAK - Walk me through iOS and Android setup for the Zoom Meeting SDK in React Native
How to install zoom-meeting-sdk-react-native
1Skills CLI (Vercel)
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill react-native -a codex2Manually: put the files in place
.agents/skills/react-native/SKILL.mdFor all projects use ~/.agents/skills/
1Skills CLI (Vercel)
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill react-native -a claude-code2Manually: put the files in place
~/.claude/skills/react-native/SKILL.mdCopy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/react-native/
Manually: put the files in place
.cursor/skills/react-native/SKILL.mdCursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/
1GitHub CLI
gh skill install openai/plugins react-native2Manually: put the files in place
.github/skills/react-native/SKILL.mdPlatform CLI
gemini skills install https://github.com/openai/plugins --path plugins/zoom/skills/meeting-sdk/react-nativeManually: put the files in place
.devin/skills/react-native/SKILL.mdThe legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

Questions about zoom-meeting-sdk-react-native
How do I install zoom-meeting-sdk-react-native in Claude?
Run npx skills add openai/plugins --skill react-native -a codex, then the skill lands at .agents/skills/react-native/SKILL.md.
What does zoom-meeting-sdk-react-native do?
It guides your agent through embedding Zoom meetings in a React Native app: SDK init, auth, join and start flows, platform setup, and native bridge troubleshooting.
What are the platform limits?
The docs note React Native support up to 0.75.4, and Expo is not supported. Native Meeting SDK dependencies for iOS and Android still need separate configuration.
