What guide-swiftui-charts does

This is a workflow guide, not API reference. The agent pulls it in when you ask for a new chart or a change to an existing one in SwiftUI, then follows the patterns instead of guessing at syntax.

Two files carry the content: references/charts.md covers marks, axes, selection, styling, composition and Chart3D, while references/charts-accessibility.md handles VoiceOver, Audio Graph and custom descriptors. Splitting accessibility out from the visual side is handy when a chart has to read well through VoiceOver.

The skill installs into Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. GitHub Copilot uses a different command, gh skill install, so don't mix it up with the rest. MIT licensed, source lives in the Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills repository.

What it helps with

  • build a SwiftUI chart from ready-made patterns
  • set up axes and mark labels without trial and error
  • add point or range selection to a chart
  • make a chart readable through VoiceOver
  • render a 3D chart with Chart3D

Example prompts for the agent

  • build a monthly sales chart with Swift Charts
  • add point selection and a label to this chart
  • make this chart work with VoiceOver
