eventkit · prisma-labs-dev — Claude Code skill: EventKit API reference
A reference skill for EventKit that answers questions about Apple calendars and reminders and points to the docs files behind each answer.
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill eventkit -a claude-codeWhat eventkit does
The skill searches a small set of docs and returns a short answer plus the file paths that hold the full details. Three files ship with it: eventkit-index.md for the framework overview, events and reminders, ekeventstore.md for store access and permissions, and ekreminder.md for creating and managing reminders.
It runs in a forked context — the frontmatter sets context: fork and hands the work to the Explore subagent. Questions about EKEventStore, EKEvent and EKReminder stay out of your main session, and the answer arrives with paths you can open yourself.
The skill only answers from those three files. Ask about anything outside them and you get nothing back, so it is worth checking the index first to see whether your question is covered. Install runs through npx skills add on most platforms; GitHub Copilot uses gh skill install instead.
What it helps with
- check how to request calendar access with
EKEventStore - find the methods for creating a reminder
- tell
EKEventandEKReminderapart - get doc file paths instead of a paraphrased answer
- ask an EventKit question without filling the main agent session
Example prompts for the agent
- How do I request calendar access with EKEventStore?
- Show me how to create an EKReminder with a due date
- Search the EventKit docs for working with events and reminders
