What guide-swiftui-animations does

This is a workflow guide, not API reference. The agent pulls it in when you ask for motion in a view: insertion and removal, state changes with animation, timing curves. Three reference files sit inside: references/animation-basics.md covers core concepts and performance, references/animation-transitions.md covers transitions and the Animatable protocol, references/animation-advanced.md covers transactions, phase and keyframe animations, and the @Animatable macro.

One command installs it through npx skills add, and the skill lands at ~/.claude/skills/guide-swiftui-animations/SKILL.md. The same skill also installs into Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode — only the -a flag changes.

The guide leans on current SwiftUI APIs, @Animatable among them, so some examples won't compile on older Xcode versions. Worth checking your target version before letting the agent touch a view.

What it helps with

  • animate a view appearing and disappearing
  • set timing and curves for a state change
  • build a phase animation step by step
  • conform a custom type to Animatable
  • work through transactions and keyframe animations

Example prompts for the agent

  • Add a transition animation for the card when it appears in the list
  • Build a phase animation for the loading progress
  • Set up @Animatable for my type with a custom interpolator
