What git-pushing does

The skill fires when you ask to push, or to save your work to GitHub. Instead of improvising git commands, the agent calls the bundled smart_commit.sh and lets it drive.

That script does the staging, picks a conventional-style message and pushes with the -u flag. You can hand it your own wording as a second argument — bash skills/git-pushing/scripts/smart_commit.sh "feat: add feature".

Hand-run git commands are deliberately skipped here. Keep stray files out of your working tree: anything uncommitted gets swept in, so clean up or gitignore before you trigger it.

What it helps with

  • commit a pile of pending edits without typing git commands
  • get a conventional-format commit message written for you
  • push a fresh branch and set its upstream in one go
  • publish a finished feature to GitHub by asking the agent

Example prompts for the agent

  • Commit and push these changes
  • Push everything to the feature/login branch
  • Make a commit saying fix: correct form validation and push it
