genmedia-workflow — Claude Code skill: what it does, install
This skill builds multi-step pipelines for images, video, audio, and subtitles. Use it when one model call cannot cover the whole media task.
npx skills add fal-ai-community/skills --skill genmedia-workflow -a claude-codeWhat genmedia-workflow does
genmedia-workflow turns a media brief into a sequence of connected nodes. It can cover generation, editing, resizing, cropping, compositing, audio work, subtitles, batching, quality checks, and final delivery. Each node keeps its endpoint, relevant parameters, request ID, output path, and defect notes.
The skill starts by mapping inputs, dependencies, and outputs. It then checks endpoint schemas and pricing through genmedia, uploads local assets, runs nodes with JSON output, and passes returned media URLs to later steps. Final assets are saved with --download and described in a compact manifest.
Endpoint calls use the genmedia CLI, so an uninstalled CLI must be prepared with genmedia init first. A 422 response requires reading validation_errors, inspecting the schema again, and fixing the named field.
What it helps with
- build a connected image and video generation pipeline
- pass one node’s media result into the next step
- upload local assets before running endpoint calls
- inspect endpoint schemas and validation failures
- save final media files with a delivery manifest
Example prompts for the agent
- Build a pipeline from
./input.pngto a final video, checking schemas and saving the outputs with--download. - Add
./voiceover.wavto the media workflow and return the downloaded files in a manifest. - Plan several variants, fan out independent nodes, and mark any defective results.
