content-research-writer — Claude Code skill: what it does
A Claude skill that drafts articles with you: it builds the outline, hunts down sources, fixes the opening and reviews each section as you write it.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill business-marketing/content-research-writerWhat content-research-writer does
The skill takes a piece from an empty file to a finished draft. Claude starts with questions: topic and main argument, who reads it, how long it should be, what you want it to do, and how formal the tone is. From there you shape an outline together — hook, intro, sections with their key points, conclusion, plus a to-do list of what still needs research.
Once the structure holds, the skill looks up material on your topic, pulls out facts and quotes, and formats references the way you asked: inline or numbered. The opening gets its own pass. You see what already works, what is weak, and a few alternative hooks with a note on why each one might land.
Then you write section by section. After each one the skill reports back: strengths, unclear sentences, transitions that do not connect, claims that need a source, and line-level edits. Your voice stays yours — it offers options instead of rewriting behind your back. Since this runs in Claude, keep the draft in its own folder: mkdir ~/writing/my-article-title, then touch article-draft.md, and start Claude from that directory.
What it helps with
- turn scattered notes into a working outline
- find sources and place citations while drafting
- rewrite an opening so it grabs attention
- get feedback on one section instead of the whole draft
- carry a piece through several rounds of revision
Example prompts for the agent
- Help me outline an article about [topic]
- Research [topic] and add citations to my outline
- Here's my intro — make the hook stronger
