canva-brand-check — Codex skill: brand review
Checks a Canva design against a brand kit and flags visual or copy differences. It only reads the design; it won’t edit it.
npx skills add openai/plugins --skill canva-brand-check -a codexWhat canva-brand-check does
The skill uses Canva tools to inspect a design and its brand kit, then reports findings for color, typography, logo use, copy tone, and consistency across pages. Each area is marked as matching, diverging, or not verifiable.
Exact color and font checks depend on the data Canva exposes. A kit may provide a name and thumbnail, while design details may omit color and font attributes. In that case, the skill compares thumbnails and asks for palette and font values before making a precise assessment. It does not guess brand specifications, and it cancels its read-only inspection transaction instead of saving changes.
Access to Canva is needed, and you may need to choose a kit when several are available. If the brandkit:read permission is missing, reconnect the Canva connector. The skill itself does not fix designs; canva-edit-design can handle some text styling, but not font families or background colors.
What it helps with
- Compare a design’s colors with a brand palette
- Spot fonts that fall outside brand specifications
- Review logo placement and appearance
- Check copy tone and page-to-page consistency
Example prompts for the agent
- Check this Canva design against our brand kit and list the differences.
- Compare the design’s colors and fonts with the kit; identify anything you cannot verify.
- Review this design for brand consistency, including its logo and page copy.

Questions about canva-brand-check
How do I install canva-brand-check in Codex?
Run npx skills add openai/plugins --skill canva-brand-check -a codex. The skill file is at .agents/skills/canva-brand-check/SKILL.md.
What does canva-brand-check do?
It reviews a Canva design against a brand kit and reports mismatches in colors, typography, logo use, copy tone, or consistency across pages. It does not modify the design.
Why might a color or font check be approximate?
Canva may provide thumbnails without machine-readable color or font values for the kit or design. Supply the palette and font names for a precise comparison; otherwise, the skill relies on visual evidence and marks uncertain details as unverifiable.
