babysit-pr · timschoch — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Monitors a pull request until ready to merge by handling CI checks, addressing review items, and pushing code fixes.
npx skills add timschoch/skilly --skill babysit-pr -a claude-codeWhat babysit-pr does
This skill runs an automated loop on a pull request. It checks status snapshots, classifies test failures, commits fixes, and pushes changes back to the head branch. Passing tests do not end the loop. The process runs until the pull request is merged, closed, or marked as needing developer input.
The workflow executes local shell scripts. First, scripts/pr-state.sh snapshots check statuses and filters out draft reviews. If checks fail, scripts/classify-failure.sh inspects logs. When a failure looks flaky, the skill runs gh run rerun instead of modifying build scripts. A strict budget limits CI fix pushes and reruns to 3 attempts before handing control back.
Bot review comments get fixed and resolved automatically. Responses to human reviewers require explicit user confirmation before posting anything to GitHub. Merging never happens without the --merge flag. Automated branch deletion is disabled to prevent accidental losses.
What it helps with
- monitor pull request status until checks finish
- rerun flaky CI runs without touching project configs
- resolve bot review comments and push necessary fixes
- merge branches safely with exact head commit matching
Example prompts for the agent
