What testing-automation does

The plugin equips GitHub Copilot with five slash commands and four specialized subagents. It handles testing workflows directly. The commands generate Playwright test scripts, provide best practices for JUnit 5 and NUnit data-driven suites, and inspect AI prompts for bias or safety flaws.

Test-driven development is structured around three agents. First, tdd-red writes a failing test using context from a GitHub issue. Next, tdd-green provides minimal code to pass the test without over-engineering. Then, tdd-refactor polishes code quality while keeping the test suite green. An extra playwright-tester agent handles end-to-end browser execution.

Browser exploration commands depend directly on Playwright MCP. They will fail if the Playwright MCP server is not configured in your environment.

What it helps with

  • run red-green-refactor TDD cycles directly from GitHub issue requirements
  • generate end-to-end Playwright tests from natural language scenarios
  • apply best practices for data-driven testing in JUnit 5 and NUnit
  • audit AI prompts for security flaws, safety, and bias

Example prompts for the agent

  • /testing-automation:playwright-generate-test create an end-to-end test for the checkout flow
  • /testing-automation:java-junit show an example of a parameterized test for order calculations
  • @tdd-red write a failing test based on issue #105 requirements
