What data-quality-auditor does

The plugin adds three pure-Python tools to Claude, with no third-party libraries. A profiler scores the dataset with DQS, a missing-value analyzer labels gaps as MCAR, MAR or MNAR, and an outlier detector runs several methods at once. You call them from the session; the dataset files stay where they are.

Missing values are the usual reason a model learns from noise. The MCAR/MAR/MNAR split tells you whether gaps are random or tied to other columns, and that changes how you fill them. Outliers get caught by more than one method on purpose: a single detector misfires on skewed distributions, so comparing results matters more than any one number.

Everything runs on the Python standard library, so there is nothing extra to install. Mixed-type or date columns are the awkward case — expect to profile a subset of columns rather than the whole table.

What it helps with

  • score dataset completeness before training a model
  • classify missing values as MCAR, MAR or MNAR
  • catch outliers with several methods and compare them
  • compute a DQS score per column and per row
  • validate field values before a report goes out

Example prompts for the agent

  • audit sales.csv for completeness and consistency
  • analyze missing values in customers.csv and tell me which types they are
  • find outliers in transactions.csv using several methods
