airtable — Codex plugin: Airtable data inside the chat
Connects your Airtable bases to the chat so you can query records, add new ones and edit existing ones without leaving the conversation.

The plugin wires ChatGPT straight to your Airtable bases. From there everything runs through conversation: ask a question about a table, request a new record, fix a field, analyze what comes back. The output is usable right away — say, building a landing page from content you already keep in Airtable.
Under the hood it is Airtable's App giving the chat access to your bases. No scripts, no export step. That helps when you need a quick check against structured internal data in the middle of something else.
It is built for Codex and ChatGPT, so it will not work in other environments. One thing to keep in mind: edits go to the live base, not a draft. If the table is shared with your team, a sloppy prompt shows up for everyone at once.
What it helps with
- pull the rows you need without opening Airtable
- add a record to a table from the chat
- correct values in existing records
- analyze base data and draw a conclusion
- build a page from content stored in a table
Example prompts for the agent
- Show me every record in the Airtable base where status is in progress
- Add a new record to the table with these fields
- Update the contact for this company in the base

It comes through the plugin marketplace; there are no separate install commands for it. Connect the Airtable app to your account and pick the bases you want to expose.
What does the airtable plugin do?
It links Claude to your Airtable bases. You can ask questions about the data, create records and update them, all in the chat.
Do edits apply to the base right away?
Yes, changes land in the live Airtable base rather than a copy. Test the wording on a single record before running anything at scale.
