postfast-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Connect an AI assistant to PostFast to schedule social posts and handle comments. Use it when PostFast is part of your publishing workflow.
claude mcp add postfast-mcp -e POSTFAST_API_KEY=<POSTFAST_API_KEY> -- npx -y postfast-mcpWhat postfast-mcp does
The server gives an assistant access to PostFast tools for listing connected accounts, creating scheduled posts, and uploading media. It can also retrieve analytics for published posts and follower history. Comment tools cover inbox conversations, replies, and conversation status changes.
For a local setup, you need npx and a POSTFAST_API_KEY value in the MCP configuration. Claude Code supports adding the server with claude mcp add or installing the plugin. Remove any hand-written PostFast entry before adding the plugin; otherwise Claude Code displays duplicate sets of PostFast tools.
The comments inbox covers TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages, and Threads, but it handles comments rather than direct messages. It does not backfill comments from before the account was connected. Deleting a comment through the server cannot be undone, while deleting a published post from PostFast does not remove it from the social platform.
What it helps with
- schedule a post for a connected social account
- upload an image and attach it to a post
- find posts scheduled within a date range
- review comment threads and reply to a comment
- retrieve metrics for published posts
Example prompts for the agent
- List the social accounts connected to PostFast.
- Schedule an Instagram post for tomorrow at 9am.
- Show comments that need a reply and draft a public response.
