Korean Government Documents (HWPX) — Claude Code MCP server for HWPX reports
Turns a memo or draft into a Korean official report or press release as HWPX, styled to a chosen ministry. Everything runs on your machine.
claude mcp add korean-report-hwpx -- uvx korean-report-hwpxWhat Korean Government Documents (HWPX) does
This server hands the assistant a small set of tools for Korean public documents. get_writing_guide explains how to tell a report from a press release and from an internal approval form, and returns the layout rules plus a JSON schema. build_document turns that structure into a finished HWPX file in the selected ministry's format and reports back a warnings list. A check step, check_structure, runs before generation and flags missing fields, stray symbols inside text, skipped hierarchy levels and overlong titles.
Two layout modes ship with it. The default follows ministry conventions: the □, ㅇ and - markers, notes, a reference block, tables, appendices. style="simplified" numbers the levels itself (Ⅰ → 1 → 가 → 1) → 가)), allows ordinary verb endings and drops the title frame and table header shading. For an internal approval report use report_kind="internal"; for the official letter form set doc_type="official" and fill in the signature grid.
The only prerequisite is uv, since the server starts through uvx. No API key, no environment variables. Output files land in ~/korean-report-hwpx/, and KOREAN_REPORT_HWPX_OUT_DIR points them elsewhere. Keep in mind what the server does not do: it supplies structure and layout, while facts and figures come from the model writing the text, so invented numbers are the model's fault, not the server's.
What it helps with
- draft an internal approval report from rough notes
- issue a press release in one ministry's house style
- validate document structure before building the file
- save the same text as Markdown next to the HWPX
- look up layout rules for a given ministry
Example prompts for the agent
- Turn this memo into a report for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as HWPX
- Format the draft as a National Tax Service press release, morning release tomorrow
- Rebuild the last report in simplified mode and keep
report.mdnext to it
