The server searches arXiv and ACL Anthology, while its Semantic Scholar tools retrieve papers that cite or are cited by a selected arXiv paper. It can also search Hugging Face datasets and the web through Exa, Brave, or Tavily. Web search needs an API key for at least one of those providers.
Document tools fetch papers, extract text from PDFs, and compile LaTeX into PDFs. Set WORKSPACE_DIR for these file-based tools. LaTeX compilation also needs a LaTeX distribution, pdflatex, and latexmk; document QA and research proposal tools need OPENROUTER_API_KEY. The server requires Python 3.12 or later.
Choose stdio, sse, or streamable-http as the transport. HTTP transports can use token authentication, but tokens are stored in plaintext, so protect the token file.
