The server connects to the public endpoint https://mcp.entscheidsuche.ch/mcp over Streamable HTTP. No API key, no authentication. Six tools ship with it: search using Lucene syntax, search_by_case_number for exact case numbers and BGE citations, fetch_document to pull a full decision by ID, plus list_hierarchy, list_facets and server_info.
Queries run across title, abstract, meta, attachment.content and reference. Words are joined with AND by default; quoted phrases, OR, NOT and wildcards work too. You can filter by decision date, scrape date, hierarchy (canton, court, chamber) and language. Leave the language out and nothing is restricted — the first available language field comes back, de before fr before it. Use language_filter with de, fr or it to pin it down.
The service is in beta, which matters if you plan to build it into a workflow. Claude Desktop speaks stdio only, so reaching an HTTP endpoint there takes the mcp-remote bridge via npx. Running your own copy needs Python: clone the repo, set up a virtual environment, and the server listens on 127.0.0.1:8765/mcp, with a stdio mode as an alternative.
