Content Strategy Trends MCP — Claude Code MCP server for trend data
Gives your agent live trend numbers: keyword history, growth over set windows, and what is ranking on a platform right now. Useful before you commit to a topic.
claude mcp add --transport http content-strategy-trends-mcp https://content-strategy.api.trendsmcp.ai/mcpWhat Content Strategy Trends MCP does
Three tools ship with the server. get_time_series returns history for one keyword on one source. get_growth reports percent change across windows from 7 days to 5 years, and several windows fit in a single call. get_top_trends needs no keyword at all — it shows what is ranking on a platform now. Where the pipeline supports it, values are normalized to 0–100.
The server is hosted at https://content-strategy.api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. You need an API key before anything billable runs; the free tier covers 100 requests per month. In Claude the whole setup is one command with an Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY header.
A stdio adapter exists too: pip install -e . then python -m trends_mcp_server, with the key in TRENDSMCP_API_KEY. Tool listing works without a key there, but paid calls draw on the same quota. Mention “using TrendsMCP” in your prompt, otherwise the model may fall back to plain web search instead of these tools.
What it helps with
- compare keyword growth across several platforms
- pull a keyword's history for a chosen period
- see what ranks on a platform without naming a keyword
- check whether a topic is climbing before it peaks
- get 7-day and 5-year change in one call
Example prompts for the agent
- Using TrendsMCP, compare 6-month growth for this keyword on Google and TikTok
- Using TrendsMCP, what's ranking on YouTube right now?
- Using TrendsMCP, show me the history for this keyword over the past year

Questions about Content Strategy Trends MCP
How do I install Content Strategy Trends MCP in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http content-strategy-trends-mcp https://content-strategy.api.trendsmcp.ai/mcp. Get an API key first and add the authorization header.
What does Content Strategy Trends MCP do?
It exposes three tools to the agent: keyword history, percent growth over selected windows, and current platform rankings. Data comes from the hosted server, so you do not scrape anything yourself.
Do I need an API key?
Yes, for billable calls. The free key covers 100 requests per month, and in stdio mode it goes into TRENDSMCP_API_KEY.
