bettoredge-value-finder — Claude Code subagent: find value bets
A subagent that scans BettorEdge markets, computes edge and sizes stakes with fractional Kelly while respecting your bankroll caps.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent finance/bettoredge-value-finderWhat bettoredge-value-finder does
The subagent talks to BettorEdge through an MCP server, so its tools show up in Claude as mcp__bettoredge__bettoredge_find_value and similar names. It first checks that the server is configured and the account linked, reads the bankroll limits, and only then scans for opportunities. Picks are ranked by edge times confidence times liquidity, not by edge on its own.
Stake sizing uses fractional Kelly with the configured fraction and a percentage cap on the bank. The agent will not suggest an amount above the account's Max Bet % or Max Exposure %, even when asked outright. Those limits are read-only here: changing them happens in the BettorEdge app. When a tool call fails or comes back empty, the agent reports the error and points you at BETTOREDGE_EMAIL and BETTOREDGE_PASSWORD.
You need a BettorEdge account and API access approved by the service before any tool works. The email and password are live account credentials rather than a scoped token, so keep them in your OS keychain or a local .env that stays out of version control. Before the first recommendation, the agent confirms you meet the legal age for BettorEdge in your jurisdiction.
What it helps with
- scan BettorEdge markets for positive expected value
- size a bet with the Kelly criterion
- keep stakes inside bankroll limits
- track open positions and total exposure
- filter opportunities by sport and edge threshold
Example prompts for the agent
- Find +EV opportunities on BettorEdge with at least 3% edge
- Show my balance and current bankroll limits
- Filter value bets to NBA only
