The publication gate
A channel reaches the showcase and the sitemap when every condition holds:
- niche relevance ≥ 60 out of 100, scored by an AI classifier;
- at least 1000 subscribers;
- at least 10 uploads.
An operator's brand channel needs 100 subscribers: it is of interest as that brand's channel even when it is small.
When we do not show a channel
If the classifier did not run and relevance stayed empty, that is not a verdict of "off-topic" — the channel simply stays unpublished until it has been scored. That way a model failure does not throw out a sound channel, and does not drag a random one into the index.
What the English pages carry
There is no language column we can trust: in 175 published channels the lang field is empty for all but eleven. So language is read off the text instead, by alphabet: the share of Cyrillic letters among all letters, plus a check for English function words.
A channel gets a row in the English catalogue when its own name is written in the Latin alphabet, and its own page when its YouTube description is English and runs to at least 300 characters, and at least 3 of its last 30 uploads carry English titles — 43 channels today. The video feed lists English titles only, and counts the same subset it lists.
The editorial read we write for each channel exists in Russian only. It is not machine-translated onto these pages, and it is not quoted in their markup.
