NFL revives DraftKings and FanDuel agreements after Fanatics deal

The National Football League has signed new multi-year agreements with DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics Betting and Gaming ahead of the 2026 season. DraftKings and FanDuel had worked with the league since 2021, but their contracts expired in March. Fanatics extended an existing partnership with the NFL.

The new deals replace earlier contracts with Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel, where the three operators held exclusive partner status. Caesars' reasons for leaving have not been disclosed. DraftKings and FanDuel paused negotiations over a dispute about the cost of streaming data access, but the disagreement has been resolved. Financial terms were not published.

Unlike previous contracts, the new agreements are not described as exclusive — the NFL may add partners. Operators gain the right to use league branding to promote betting, access to official game data, Next Gen Stats and BetVision through Genius Sports. They receive visibility on NFL digital platforms and major events such as the Super Bowl. DraftKings remains the daily fantasy sports partner, while Fanatics becomes the online casino partner.

According to the American Gaming Association, Americans wagered around $30 billion on the 2025 NFL season. League fixtures form the backbone of the US betting calendar.

For the NFL, the partnerships create commercial opportunities and embed operators in the league's game integrity and responsible gaming framework. Each partner has agreed to league policy: no betting on officiating, injuries or predetermined outcomes. Genius Sports monitors betting patterns in real time. Each club has an integrity representative, typically a former FBI agent.

The NFL has allocated $6.2 million and $6.4 million to the National Council on Problem Gambling since 2021. Before the Supreme Court's 2018 ruling in the PASPA case, the league opposed legalising sports betting, but after the federal ban was lifted it backed standards to protect the integrity of sport.
