Bulgarian studio Pateplay has entered the US market with a full online gaming licence in Pennsylvania, becoming the first Bulgarian slot supplier to secure regulatory approval in the state. The studio is preparing to launch its game portfolio for local operators and players.
Besides Pennsylvania, Pateplay secured a preliminary licence in New Jersey, where it will go live shortly, and is awaiting approval in Michigan. A company representative said the Pennsylvania licence took two years of preparation.
Pateplay's US portfolio includes slots Quack Squad, Pure Ecstasy, Bonbon Pop, Jester Bags, Sevens Heat, Fruit Attack and the Pate Link jackpot system. The studio is betting on product variety and adaptation to US player behaviour.
Bulgarian studios entering the regulated US market remain rare. Pateplay's two-year licensing cycle is typical for suppliers outside Europe and North America. Securing licences in three states at once may serve as a platform for further expansion across regulated jurisdictions.
