Entain H1 profit beats estimates as revenue rises 7% to $3.44 billion

Entain beat consensus for the first half of 2026, with group NGR up 7% to £2.55 billion ($3.44 billion) and online NGR up 9%. Underlying EBITDA came in at £479.3 million ($646.94 million), down 2% from a year earlier but above the £455 million consensus.

The Ladbrokes owner and BetMGM co-owner held that pace against a rise in Remote Gaming Duty in Britain, from 21% to 40% in April. The 2026 FIFA World Cup lifted first deposits during the tournament to twice the level of 2022. Sports NGR in the UK and Ireland rose 11%, gaming NGR 13%.

International NGR grew 7% to £1.37 billion ($1.85 billion), led by Australia, Canada, Georgia, New Zealand and Spain. Operating profit fell 10% to £318.9 million, while the net loss narrowed to £5.6 million from £116.9 million.

CEE exit, guidance

In June Entain sold its 20% stake in the Entain CEE joint venture to partner EMMA Capital for €425 million and plans a full exit from the region. Debt stood at £3.6 billion at the end of June, and 500 roles are being cut. BetMGM's technology infrastructure is being separated from MGM Resorts, with no deal for the asset planned.

CEO Stella David held full-year guidance: online NGR growth of 5–7% at constant currency and EBITDA at the midpoint of the £910–960 million range. Proceeds from the CEE sale will go to cutting debt and returning cash to shareholders.
