Bloomberry narrows 2Q26 loss by 75% on favorable gaming hold

Philippine operator Bloomberry narrowed its net loss by 75 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026. Consolidated GGR rose 15 percent to $289 million, EBITDA climbed 35 percent to $60.4 million. Growth came from an anomalously high VIP hold of 3.80 percent against a normalised 2.85 percent.

Without the hold effect, EBITDA would have grown only 8.3 percent. Chairman and CEO Enrique K. Razon Jr. acknowledged that underlying demand in VIP and premium mass segments remains weak. The positive trend was supported by tight cost control.

Property performance

Solaire Resort Entertainment City posted GGR of $203 million, up 18 percent year-on-year. VIP rolling chip grew 12 percent, but VIP GGR jumped 81 percent to $45.3 million on hold of 3.61 percent versus 2.23 percent a year earlier. Normalised VIP growth would have been around 12 percent. Mass-table drop fell 4 percent, slot coin-in dropped 12 percent. Property EBITDA rose 40 percent to $42.3 million, margin reached 26 percent.

Solaire Resort North in Quezon City grew GGR by 9 percent to $86.4 million, EBITDA by 19 percent to $22.4 million. VIP rolling chip more than doubled, but mass-table drop collapsed 23 percent. Hotel occupancy reached 85.6 percent against 61.8 percent a year ago.

For the first half, Bloomberry recorded a net loss of $8.3 million against a profit of $33.7 million a year earlier — the comparison was affected by non-operating income of $51.1 million from refinancing in the first quarter of 2025. The company launched online gaming platform FUNaloMax in July and plans to migrate Solaire Online onto it.
