TransAct Technologies has launched a new strategic review of its casino and gaming division after suspending an earlier process in 2025. The company has appointed BofA Securities as financial adviser.
CEO John Dillon said the gaming business remains profitable and generates cash, but it is time to determine the optimal strategy. 'We believe the time is right to explore potential strategic options, given the ongoing strength in this market,' Dillon said.
TransAct reported Q2 2026 revenue of $13.9m, up 1% year-on-year. Casino and gaming sales fell 4% to $7.3m from $7.6m a year earlier. The figures include a $1m rebate to customers related to tariff surcharges. Without that adjustment, total revenue would have reached $14.9m, up 8%, and gaming would have posted $8.3m, up 9%.
Dillon noted that casino and gaming continues to deliver strong results and substantial cash flow. The company is also building out a high-margin software business with recurring revenue in its FST segment.
The review means TransAct may consider a sale, spin-off or merger of the gaming asset. Last year's freeze has now been lifted as the market has strengthened and management is ready to act.
