CIRSA operating profit tops €200m in record second quarter

Spanish gaming group CIRSA posted operating profit of €202m in the second quarter of 2026, up 8.3% year-on-year and the first time the figure has topped €200m in a single quarter. Revenue rose 10.1% to €637m. The quarter marked 72 consecutive periods of operating profit growth.

Organic expansion, casino investment and recent acquisitions drove the result. For the first half of 2026, revenue climbed 9.1% and operating profit 8.4% against the same period in 2025. The company expects to finish the year at the upper end of its earlier guidance.

Casino division

The casino business grew across all markets. CIRSA completed five refurbishment projects under its Gold Mine programme, including Casino Majestic Panama. Six venues in Andalusia and Catalonia were expanded, and more than 700 new slots installed network-wide. Integration of assets in Peru and Morocco is underway.

Slots Spain and Italy

Slots Spain revenue increased 11.2%, with EBITDA up over 17% on selective acquisitions, synergies and demand for the Manhattan Mirage, Manhattan Premium and Manhattan Magic ranges. In Italy, CIRSA is outperforming a declining AWP market; the VLT segment held stable. Delays to an expected regulatory decree may extend current conditions into 2027–2028, with a new tender possible in 2029.

Online

The online gaming and betting segment grew 14.9% on record active player numbers and customer acquisition. Demand was lifted by the opening of the football World Cup in the final two weeks of the quarter.

Outlook

CIRSA intends to combine organic investment with disciplined M&A. Recent deals expanded the group's presence in Paraguay and Portugal. It now operates 459 casinos and more than 85,000 slot machines across 11 countries, along with around 2,500 betting outlets.
