A Curaçao appeals court is hearing the Santeda case today, 28 July. The operator seized €246,500 in winnings from a Spanish player on MyStake. This is the second hearing: a lower court ruled in March 2025 that Santeda must pay the full amount plus interest, €4,500 in pre-trial collection costs and legal expenses.
Santeda runs a network of unlicensed sites operating in the UK without geoblocking — MyStake, Donbet, Velobet, Goldenbet. The operator blocked the payout, claiming the player breached terms by exceeding a €20 maximum stake. The court rejected the argument. It found that Cyberluck's licence requirements — Santeda's master licensor before the sublicensing system was scrapped in late 2024 — obliged the operator to either let the player adjust the stake or block further bets once the limit was breached. Santeda did neither.
Sources say this is the last of around 25 cases filed against Santeda by players. The rest settled for a fraction of the claim. The Spanish player refused a settlement below 72.5–75% of the amount owed and has not backed down despite more than 60 attempts by the operator to close the case.
Santeda and its sister company GTW were formally dissolved early this year after a series of court actions and regulatory scrutiny. Another Curaçao operator, BC.Game, lost its licence in 2024 for refusing to pay players in a similar dispute — a local court declared it bankrupt. That case partly pushed the UK government to tighten control over unlicensed sports sponsorship. If Santeda keeps refusing to pay, its offshore licence is at risk.
