GLI approved to test iGaming for New Zealand’s newly regulated online casino market

Gaming Laboratories International has been accredited to test and certify iGaming platforms in New Zealand. Operators and suppliers preparing to enter the market can now use the lab's expertise to meet technical and regulatory requirements.

New Zealand's regulated online market was established under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026. The Department of Internal Affairs published minimum standards and draft testing and monitoring requirements. Licensing proceeds through a competitive allocation process, with applications scheduled to open in October 2026.

'New Zealand is an important milestone for regulated iGaming in the Asia-Pacific region. Our teams are ready to help operators and suppliers understand and effectively navigate the technical requirements of the new regulatory framework,' said GLI APAC managing director Richard Howarth. He noted that GLI's global expertise combined with regional capabilities gives clients international experience and local support.

GLI serves more than 710 regulated gaming jurisdictions worldwide. In APAC the company operates laboratories in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. In 2026 GLI became the first independent lab accredited by PAGCOR to test iGaming platforms in the Philippines. In August Uzbekistan's regulator officially added GLI to the list of laboratories whose reports are accepted for certification.
