Payment operator Mynt reported first-half 2026 revenue of 24.9 billion Philippine pesos ($396.6 million), down 3.7% year-on-year. The decline follows a directive from the Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) that required e-wallets to cut off access to gambling platforms from August 2025.
BSP gave regulated institutions 48 hours to remove links to gambling sites from apps and web interfaces. The measure came in response to rising online wagering and its impact on users' financial health. GCash, the largest e-wallet in the market, disabled deposit and withdrawal functions for licensed operators on 16 August 2025. Players now transact directly through casino sites.
PAGCOR chair Alejandro Tengco told lawmakers that gambling transaction volume dropped roughly 50% between 17 and 19 August 2025, immediately after the ban took effect. Operator DigiPlus, which runs BingoPlus and ArenaPlus, earned 32.85 billion pesos ($523.3 million) in the first half of 2026, down 31.2% from the prior year. The company previously cited the e-wallet disconnect as the main factor behind lower user activity.
For affiliates, this means lower conversion in the Philippines. E-wallet funnels no longer work; players must register and pay on operator sites. Traffic to the vertical remains, but the funnel is longer.
