US gaming supplier Primero Games has acquired the gaming division of Barcelona-based Win Systems. The deal includes the Gold Club electronic roulette business and gives Primero access to 3,000 gaming positions across Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Panama.
The Win Systems Gaming team stays in place: CEO Eric Benchimol and executive chairman of the gaming division Dario Zutel will continue in their roles. Primero plans to integrate its own content and technology into Win Systems' existing operations across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Primero owner and chairman Mike Macke called the acquisition a step in the strategy to build a global, diversified gaming company. Primero already operates studios in the US, UK and Canada; the deal extends its footprint into key Latam markets. Benchimol said Win Systems' installed base, production capacity and market knowledge, combined with Primero's game library, will accelerate product rollout.
Primero has been in the industry since 2009 but came fully under Macke's control in 2020. The company specialises in land-based slots, kiosks and payment systems, but has been expanding online in recent years. In 2024 Primero acquired UK-based Storm Gaming, rebranded as Storm Games, and metal fabrication plant Metcam to produce gaming cabinets in the US. Investment in the Hurricane platform is intended to link land-based and online channels.
