The skill feeds your agent live gold data. fetch_price.sh returns the current price, the OHLC of the active candle and an indicator set across 5m/15m/1h; fetch_candles.sh returns candle history for intervals from 1min to 1day. Twelve Data is the main source and needs a key exported as TWELVE_DATA_API_KEY. Without that key you fall back to fetch_gold.sh on Yahoo Finance, where quotes run roughly 15-20 minutes behind.
Analysis follows a fixed order. Price structure comes first: where price sits against support, resistance and swing points. Candle patterns come next, and indicators only confirm or deny what structure already shows. RSI, MACD or Stoch on their own are not a reason to enter. A table of extreme readings backs this up — Stoch K under 10, CCI under -100, RSI under 30 for longs, mirrored thresholds for shorts.
Filters run before any signal. When 5m ATR is above 8 points, or 15m ATR above 20, the skill skips the trade: a 5-point stop is noise at that volatility. Trading between 21:00 and 22:00 UTC is blocked outright, since stop hunts cluster around the daily rollover — the author moved this from a soft warning to a hard gate after two 5-point stops were swept back to back. Scheduled news such as CPI, NFP and rate decisions also closes the door, because gold can travel dozens of points in seconds. Factor in the spread of 2-3 points plus slippage: your real stop cost lands at 8-9 points, not 5.
