rivet-sandbox-agent — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Runs coding assistants inside isolated sandbox environments and steers them via an HTTP API. Useful for secure automated coding and remote desktop operations.
npx skills add rivet-dev/skills --skill rivet-sandbox-agent -a claude-codeWhat rivet-sandbox-agent does
The skill connects coding tools to Rivet Sandbox Agent endpoints. Through this interface, an assistant inspects managed processes and reads execution logs. For direct interaction, it can open a WebSocket terminal session inside the container.
The remote environment includes desktop automation capabilities. An assistant captures screenshots, triggers mouse movements, and enters keyboard strokes. It also inspects project files and updates MCP configurations.
You need a reachable Sandbox Agent server with valid authentication. If the HTTP service is down, operations cannot execute.
What it helps with
- execute untrusted agent tasks inside isolated sandboxes
- control remote virtual desktop interfaces via HTTP endpoints
- inspect running process logs and interact with WebSocket terminals
- manage files and MCP tool configurations remotely
Example prompts for the agent
- Open a WebSocket terminal session in the sandbox and check running processes.
- Capture a desktop screenshot and click the main application window.
- Inspect the project file tree and read the latest task process logs.
