What reddit-posts does

The skill walks an agent through writing Reddit posts and comments. You get a publish-ready title and body, a suggested flair, and a reminder to check the subreddit rules first. Titles stay factual and specific; the body leads with help, a story, or an insight.

Its rules cover the 90/10 split (ninety percent value, ten percent promotion), a cap of one promotional post in six, and reading the sidebar before you post. The algorithm section notes that the upvote-to-downvote ratio counts for more than the raw score, early engagement weighs heavier, and promotional posts work better once you have karma in the 100 to 1000 range. A table lists content types: experience sharing, Q&A, case studies, tool recommendations.

Copy agents are the main audience; design agents can pull context for image posts. Paid promotion is out of scope — that is what the reddit-ads skill covers. Subreddit rules shift over time, so checking the sidebar before posting is worth the minute it takes.

What it helps with

  • draft a post title that fits a specific subreddit's format
  • write a body where value outweighs the pitch
  • check whether a promo post breaks the one-in-six limit
  • pick the right flair so the post survives moderation
  • reply to comments in a way that lifts the thread

Example prompts for the agent

  • Write a post for r/SideProject about launching my service
  • Draft a title and body for a subreddit about home servers
  • Review my Reddit draft — does it read like an ad?
