What swift-concurrency does

The skill hands the agent a set of local .md pages on Swift Concurrency. It covers the topic overview plus separate files for Task, TaskGroup, the Actor protocol, AsyncSequence, AsyncStream and CheckedContinuation for bridging callback code.

It runs as a forked context with the Explore agent, so lookups happen away from the main conversation. The agent searches the skill's own files first. When a topic is missing there, it checks other installed Apple skills by name and SKILL.md frontmatter, then greps their files. That costs less context than pulling docs off the web.

Only if nothing local matches does it take a path from concurrency-overview.md and hit the sosumi.ai Markdown mirror — /documentation/swift/task becomes https://sosumi.ai/documentation/swift/task. That last step needs network access, so offline setups stop at the local files.

What it helps with

  • tell TaskGroup apart from spawning Task in a loop
  • convert a delegate callback to async/await with CheckedContinuation
  • get the Actor protocol signature and isolation rules right
  • wire up AsyncStream for events arriving from outside the app
  • recall how AsyncSequence iteration actually works

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show me how to fan out parallel requests with TaskGroup and await all results
  • How do I bridge a delegate callback to async/await using CheckedContinuation?
  • Walk me through how AsyncStream buffers events, using the skill files

How to install swift-concurrency

1Skills CLI (Vercel)

npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a claude-code

2Manually: put the files in place

~/.claude/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md

Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/swift-concurrency/

Questions about swift-concurrency

How do I install swift-concurrency in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill swift-concurrency -a claude-code. The skill file lands at ~/.claude/skills/swift-concurrency/SKILL.md.

What does swift-concurrency do?

It gives the agent local reference pages for Swift Concurrency — Task, TaskGroup, actors, AsyncSequence, AsyncStream, continuations — that it reads while writing or fixing async Swift code.

What happens when the skill files don't cover a topic?

It looks at other installed Apple skills and their .md files first. Failing that, it follows a documentation path from concurrency-overview.md to the sosumi.ai Markdown mirror.

## Fetching More Docs

1. Search this skill's local `.md` files first.
2. If the topic is not here, check the other installed Apple skills you have available by their names, descriptions, or `SKILL.md` frontmatter, then grep their local files. This is faster and uses less context than fetching new docs from the internet.
3. If no installed skill has the page, use the relevant documentation path from `concurrency-overview.md` with the `sosumi.ai` Markdown mirror. For example, `/documentation/swift/task` maps to `https://sosumi.ai/documentation/swift/task`.
