relevancekit — Claude Code skill: Apple Watch widgets in Smart Stack
A skill that teaches your agent to attach RelevanceKit context to watchOS widgets, so the Smart Stack surfaces them at the right moment.
npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill relevancekit -a claude-codeWhat relevancekit does
RelevanceKit is Apple's framework for telling watchOS when a widget matters. This skill hands the agent working patterns: RelevantContext built from a date or a place, WidgetRelevance holding a list of attributes, grouping through WidgetRelevanceGroup.
There are two routes. Add a relevance() method to an existing AppIntentTimelineProvider and share the provider code with iOS. Or build the widget entirely on RelevanceConfiguration and RelevanceEntriesProvider, where a card only appears once conditions match. The second route needs watchOS 26+.
Some clues need setup first. Location signals require the containing app to request access and the widget extension to declare NSWidgetWantsLocation; fitness and sleep clues need HealthKit with the exact read types. The author flags the material as beta-sensitive and suggests re-checking Apple's documentation before making firm claims about RelevanceKit behavior.
What it helps with
- surface a widget in the Smart Stack only at the right time
- tie a card to the user's location
- create separate cards for upcoming calendar events
- factor in a workout or a sleep schedule
- keep RelevanceKit types apart from WidgetKit ones
Example prompts for the agent
- Add relevance() to my AppIntentTimelineProvider so the widget shows up before a meeting
- Build a widget on RelevanceEntriesProvider that only appears near my office
- Check which permissions my watchOS widget needs for location and fitness clues

Questions about relevancekit
How do I install relevancekit in Claude?
Run npx skills add dpearson2699/swift-ios-skills --skill relevancekit -a claude-code. The skill lands in ~/.claude/skills/relevancekit/SKILL.md.
What does relevancekit do?
It helps the agent write RelevanceKit code: declaring widget context by time, location, fitness state, sleep or connected headphones so watchOS can place the card in the Smart Stack when it fits.
Which platforms does RelevanceKit support?
RelevantContext is declared on iOS 17+ and watchOS 10+, but only watchOS acts on it. RelevanceConfiguration, RelevanceEntriesProvider and RelevanceEntry start at watchOS 26.
