notion-research-documentation — Claude Code skill: how to install
Searches your Notion workspace, pulls content from relevant pages, and writes structured research reports with citations.

npx skills add makenotion/claude-code-notion-plugin --skill research-documentation -a claude-codeWhat notion-research-documentation does
The skill automates research workflows across a Notion workspace. The agent runs Notion:notion-search to locate matching documents and pulls full text with Notion:notion-fetch. Then it writes a documented summary via Notion:notion-create-pages.
Output formats include quick briefs and detailed reports. New content saves as a standalone page or directly inside a database using data_source_id. A parent document can be assigned with page_id. The workflow includes source citations linking back to original pages.
Execution requires appropriate Notion workspace permissions for every page in scope. If access rights are missing, searches fail to retrieve the necessary source text.
What it helps with
- locate relevant pages across a Notion workspace
- extract findings from multiple workspace notes
- compile structured research documents with source citations
- publish organized summaries directly into Notion databases
Example prompts for the agent
- Search Notion for technical architecture notes and write a summary report
- Review our onboarding pages in Notion and document key gaps
- Synthesize competitor notes from Notion and save a report under the strategy parent page
