What msw-defaultplayer does

Two model files are involved. ./Global/Player.model holds the base component list and property links, while ./Global/DefaultPlayer.model inherits from it and overrides values. Edits go through msw_model_builder.cjs from the sibling msw-general skill, not through hand-written JSON.

The skill lists the native player components: movement, rigidbody physics with gravity, state machine, camera, HP and revive, name tag, chat balloon, inventory, and the script components script.PlayerHit and script.PlayerAttack. Key properties and methods are spelled out per component, such as Hp and MaxHp on PlayerComponent or InputSpeed and JumpForce on MovementComponent.

Costumes and avatar equipment live in the separate msw-avatar skill since they apply to any entity, not just the player. Project scripts belong under ./RootDesk/MyDesk/; both models sit in ./Global/. A value can be overridden through a model property, a native component directly, or a script component.

What it helps with

  • change the character's walk speed and jump force
  • set max HP and decide what happens on death
  • tune camera tracking and its dead zone
  • add or remove a component on the player model
  • check the inherited component list before patching

Example prompts for the agent

  • Read the current speed and jump force from ./Global/DefaultPlayer.model
  • Set MaxHp on PlayerComponent to 200 and show me the result
  • Add the script.PlayerAttack component to the DefaultPlayer model
