brand-voice · luongnv89 — Claude Code skill: keep every text on brand
A skill that holds marketing copy, customer emails and public pages to one tone of voice. Handy when several people write for the same brand.
npx skills add luongnv89/claude-howto --skill brand-voice -a claude-codeWhat brand-voice does
The skill encodes a brand's voice and applies it to whatever the agent writes. Inside are a mission, values and four tone traits: friendly but professional, clear and concise, confident, empathetic. Then come do's and don'ts — address the reader as "you", prefer active voice, keep sentences under 20 words, lead with the value. Corporate jargon, "we believe" phrasing, all caps and walls of text are out.
A vocabulary section swaps weak words for better ones: streamline instead of revolutionize, integrate instead of synergize, use instead of utilize. Two examples show the gap between a concrete benefit and a vague claim about advanced technology.
The skill is marked user-invocable: false, so you cannot call it by hand — it fires when a task touches marketing copy, customer communication or public-facing content. The rules are written for one specific company: mission, values and vocabulary describe a particular product, so you will need to rewrite the file for your own brand.
What it helps with
- check marketing copy against the brand tone
- rewrite a customer email without corporate jargon
- keep one style when several writers share the content
- replace vague claims with a concrete benefit
- shorten sentences and break up walls of text
Example prompts for the agent
- check this draft against our brand voice and suggest edits
- rewrite the customer email in our tone, no jargon
- audit the landing page against brand-voice rules and list what breaks them
