What learning-product does

The skill takes one Researcher Evidence Brief from literature-reviews/<slug>/ and repackages it for a specific audience. Output is one of four formats: ma-brief (v1), workshop-cop-pack (v2), regional-learning-brief (v3), or donor-management-memo (v4). Sources come only from what the brief already verified, and citations are never invented.

At session start it reads the brief itself, sources.md if present, and the fuller literature-review.md for v3 depth. Structure comes from the matching exemplar at agent-improvements/learning-product-exemplar-v[N].md. For v4 you must supply a recipient — it sets the voice register and how the decision-ask is framed. For v2 you can pick the workshop format and modality; for v3, the number of country snapshots (default 4, range 3–5).

A separate pass audits every cited URL. Aggregator wrappers such as consensus.app or ResearchGate get swapped for the canonical publisher URL or DOI, and dead links are traced back to a permanent source. When the canonical source sits behind a paywall and no open-access version exists for a non-academic audience, the citation is flagged outright. Worth knowing before you publish, not after.

The skill does not produce the underlying Evidence Brief — that is researcher. Decision memos that did not come from a brief belong to decision-memo. Evaluation design, indicators, and ToC building live in other skills.

What it helps with

  • turn a finished Evidence Brief into a 2-page MA brief
  • build a workshop or community-of-practice pack
  • synthesise a regional brief across several countries
  • draft a talking-points memo for a donor or management
  • audit brief citations for dead links and aggregator wrappers

Example prompts for the agent

  • Build a learning product from brief 2026-01-15_example-topic-region, type ma-brief
  • Make a workshop-cop-pack from this Evidence Brief, format half-day, virtual
  • Draft a donor-management-memo from the brief, recipient donor-programme-officer

Questions about learning-product

How do I install learning-product in Claude?

Run npx skills add gasserane/personal-skills --skill learning-product -a claude-code. The skill lands at ~/.claude/skills/learning-product/SKILL.md.

What does learning-product do?

It reads a Researcher Evidence Brief and repackages it into one of four formats: an MA brief, a workshop pack, a regional brief, or a donor memo. Citations and links come only from the brief.

How is learning-product different from researcher and decision-memo?

researcher produces the Evidence Brief itself; learning-product works from a finished one. decision-memo handles memos that did not originate from a brief.
