latex-posters · davila7 — Claude Code skill: research posters in LaTeX
A skill that walks your agent through building a conference or thesis poster in LaTeX: layout, colors, columns, figures.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill scientific/latex-postersWhat latex-posters does
The skill covers three LaTeX poster packages: beamerposter, tikzposter and baposter. It ships a comparison of the three, ready templates under assets/, and reference files on layout, design and typography. The agent gets Read, Write, Edit and Bash, so it can open your .tex files, patch them and run the build.
Sizes are handled too: A0, A1, A2 and North American formats such as 36×48 inches, plus portrait or landscape. The skill describes the usual poster sections — title block with authors, background, methods, results, conclusions, references — and suggests type sizes for each.
It leans on a second skill, scientific-schematics, and suggests generating at least two diagrams with python scripts/generate_schematic.py "your diagram description" -o figures/output.png. Without that skill installed, the figure step is on you.
What it helps with
- build an A0 conference poster from a template
- split research results across three columns
- pick a high-contrast palette readable from a distance
- place figures and tables into the poster grid
- turn a paper into a visual summary for a defense
Example prompts for the agent
- build an A0 poster from the beamerposter template, three columns
- convert this tikzposter to landscape 36×48 inches
- check the title and body font sizes in my poster
