kubernetes-architect — Claude Code skill: what it does and setup
Guides container orchestration design, cloud platform setup, and GitOps deployments with ArgoCD or Flux. Helpful for multi-cluster enterprise rollouts.
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill development/kubernetes-architectWhat kubernetes-architect does
This skill guides Claude Code in architecting cloud-native platforms. It assists with managed setups across AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and Google Cloud GKE, as well as self-hosted bare-metal clusters via kubeadm. The agent generates cluster topologies, ingress designs with Gateway API, and security controls such as Kyverno or Falco.
Delivery configurations follow GitOps practices. The assistant drafts setups for ArgoCD and Flux v2, organizes Helm charts or Kustomize overlays, and implements canary rollouts using Flagger. It also covers secret workflows through HashiCorp Vault or External Secrets Operator.
This skill is not suitable for single-node local testing or fixing application logic. Safety rules require testing admission controllers in staging before touching production clusters.
What it helps with
- design multi-cluster topology for cloud platforms
- configure declarative GitOps with ArgoCD or Flux
- roll out service mesh networking with Istio or Cilium
- analyze compute spend and workload rightsizing with OpenCost
Example prompts for the agent
- Design an EKS cluster setup with Karpenter autoscaling and Cilium network policies.
- Write an ArgoCD app-of-apps structure with canary releases via Argo Rollouts.
- Audit cluster resource quotas and configure External Secrets Operator with Vault.
