google-workspace-cli · hoodini — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
This skill lets an agent use the gws CLI for Google Workspace tasks, from handling Gmail and Drive to creating Calendar events. Use it to automate work across Workspace services.
npx skills add hoodini/ai-agents-skills --skill google-workspace-cli -a claude-codeWhat google-workspace-cli does
The skill guides an agent to use gws for Google Workspace APIs. It can help manage Drive files, read and send Gmail, work with Calendar, Sheets, Docs and Slides, and access other Workspace services. The CLI builds its commands from Google's Discovery Service at runtime and returns structured JSON.
You need Node.js 18+, a Google Cloud project for OAuth, and a Google account with Workspace access. After installing the CLI, configure access with gws auth setup and gws auth login. Testing-mode OAuth apps have a limit of about 25 scopes, so the recommended preset of 85+ scopes will fail. Google does not officially support this project, and active development means commands may change before v1.0.
What it helps with
- find files in Google Drive
- read or send Gmail messages
- create a Google Calendar event
- fetch data from Google Sheets
- write content to Google Docs
Example prompts for the agent
- Find recent files in Google Drive and list their names.
- Read Gmail messages about the report and summarize them.
- Create a Google Calendar event from these details.
