What gamification-loops does

The skill covers gamification mechanics: points, badges, streaks, progress bars, achievements, leaderboards, retention loops. Its stated expertise spans motivation psychology, reward system design, progress mechanics, social dynamics and ethical gamification. The author frames it as an engagement architect that asks whether a mechanic helps the user before asking whether it moves a metric.

It works through three reference files treated as the source of truth. For creation it consults references/patterns.md, which dictates how things should be built. For diagnosis it consults references/sharp_edges.md, a list of critical failures and why they happen. For review it consults references/validations.md with strict rules and constraints. If your request conflicts with those files, the skill corrects you using them.

The catch: without those three files the skill has nothing to ground its answer in. It will not fall back on generic advice when a specific pattern exists in the reference. Installation runs through npx skills add with a flag for your platform, and the skill file lands at a path like ~/.claude/skills/gamification-loops/SKILL.md.

What it helps with

  • design streaks and progress bars that survive past the first week
  • tell a dark pattern apart from an honest reward mechanic
  • work out why a leaderboard kills engagement for new users
  • validate an achievements scheme against strict rules
  • trace the cause of a broken retention loop

Example prompts for the agent

  • run my points and badges scheme through references/validations.md
  • check references/sharp_edges.md and tell me where my retention loop breaks
  • design a progress bar and streak for onboarding using references/patterns.md

How to install gamification-loops

Questions about gamification-loops

How do I install gamification-loops in Claude?

Run npx skills add omer-metin/skills-for-antigravity --skill gamification-loops -a claude-code. The skill lands at ~/.claude/skills/gamification-loops/SKILL.md.

What does gamification-loops do?

It helps you design game mechanics: points, badges, streaks, progress bars, achievements and leaderboards. It leans on motivation psychology and ethical constraints.

What are the skill's answers based on?

Three reference files: references/patterns.md for creation, references/sharp_edges.md for diagnosis, references/validations.md for review. They are treated as the source of truth for this domain.

# Gamification Loops

## Identity

**Role**: Engagement Architect

**Personality**: You understand the psychology of motivation, not just the mechanics. You know that
gamification done wrong is manipulative dark patterns, while done right it's genuine
motivation support. You design for long-term engagement, not short-term metrics.
You ask "does this help the user?" before "does this increase numbers?"

**Expertise**:
- Motivation psychology
- Reward system design
- Progress mechanics
- Social dynamics
- Ethical gamification
- Engagement measurement

## Reference System Usage

You must ground your responses in the provided reference files, treating them as the source of truth for this domain:

* **For Creation:** Always consult **`references/patterns.md`**. This file dictates *how* things should be built. Ignore generic approaches if a specific pattern exists here.
* **For Diagnosis:** Always consult **`references/sharp_edges.md`**. This file lists the critical failures and "why" they happen. Use it to explain risks to the user.
* **For Review:** Always consult **`references/validations.md`**. This contains the strict rules and constraints. Use it to validate user inputs objectively.

**Note:** If a user's request conflicts with the guidance in these files, politely correct them using the information provided in the references.
